I secretly want to be a stylist that is really affordable. I have this second hand store by me that sells new to barely used name brand items for deals you cannot pass up. I do things a little backwards when dressing. I usually start with my favorite thing SHOES and more shoes. I have a ton! So I found these kind of loud orange shoes that I like. Then I found this nice sweater with embroidery that would match. I of course then cut up a guy's t-shirt (the collar) and made my own necklace and voile'.......really inexpensive.

Welcome
Welcome to my arts and crafts blog. I wanted a place separate from my photography blog where I can talk about art, crafts, DIY and my latest passion, Pinterest. I am not opposed to talking about Photography here also. I want a place where other bloggers can upload what they have made or join in discussions about anything creative. No judgement please on photography uploaded from anyone as I for one plan to use my phone on a lot of tutorials. I know a lot of blogs have beautiful photography and that is great if you have the time but sometimes it is just easier to capture it on your phone for example's sake.

Upcycled Man's sweatshirt
GIVE ME SCISSORS AND A SWEATSHIRT!
I just did a DIY.....turned a man's xl sweatshirt into something stylish. You need to buy the sweatshirt a lot larger than you want the jacket. I kept thinking about this so I just cut away not exactly sure what I was doing so sorry for the unproper tutorial but I think it turned out kind of cute. This sweat shirt was brand new at the thrift store so really cheap and it was such a nice thick sweatshirt with kind of a lining. I just happened to have the right amount of vintage anchor buttons. This is all just cut and hand sewn. I am sure you real seamstress can make it so much more polished.

I like to cut T-Shirts
This is a cool t-shirt alone but........it is a guy shirt in which the neck is higher than a girl shirt. I like to mix a slight masculine style with a feminine style in layers. So I cut the neck line and the cool thing about t-shirt material, you do not have to put a seam or sew the cut edge, it just kind of curls or stays intact. This was an easy t-shirt cut and I showed a couple of ways to add a layered/feminine look. I have done so many and different styles but always forget to take a photo of the shirt before cutting. Oh and please excuse the photography and my background choice. I just put a gray backdrop on my bed......not the best color choice.

Easy 3 ingredient frosting.....so good
edit: I put the frosting in the refrigerator and it hardened into a thick custard which was an awesome desert alone!!!!!!
A few marshmallows a little bit of coconut milk and a couple tablespoons of cream cheese. I didn't really measure anything as this was an experiment that worked! If I had to guess, about 10 large marshmallows, 1/4 cup of coconut milk and 2 oz of cream cheese. I put everything in a bowl and microwaved 1-2 minutes with stirring in between. Depending on your microwave, you should do it in 1 minute intervals. Only microwave until the marshmallows start getting really soft and still have some shape. Then you will mix it well with a fork. You do not want to overcook the marshmallows. This frosting was so yummy that I could eat it alone. The coconut milk really added a nice flavor. If you do not like coconut milk, I am sure regular, evaporated or condensed milk will work and depending how thick you want it. It is a thin frosting so really good to drizzle over scones, biscuits or muffins. Or if you do not have those in the house, this is what I tried it with; One tortilla plus cinnamon. I warmed up the tortilla and spread the frosting onto the tortilla, sprinkled a little cinnamon over the frosting and rolled up the tortilla. That was good!

Simple Pumpkin Pie Spice Protein Shake
Vanilla Protein Powder Shake mix-100cal Pumpkin Pie Spice-35cal Total cal 135. YUM!
This might not be a new idea for some but while making my usual breakfast, a protein shake and coffee, the idea came to me. Why not spice up my protein shake once in a while. International delight has so many other flavors so there are many possibilities. The Pumpkin Pie Spice tasted really good.....subtle. I probably will add a little more creamer but it will add more calories.

Did it work?
One of my first pins was a tutorial on beachy hair waves. This appealed to me as I alternate between letting my hair go natural (no style), straighten it and curling it. Both straightening and curling take soooooooooooo long and I am always looking for ways to spend less time on getting ready. The following is the original tutorial and then I show you with my phone camera (yes bad pictures) whether it worked or not.
Here is the original tutorial and idea.
I tried it! I have to say I liked my results better when I braided my hair versus twisting it. Twisting gave me a crimped look and braided gave me the wave.
Results for me, I loved it because it was so fast. I just made two braids, one on each side. Went down on each one with the iron and voila! I put gloss on my hair after this photo and the waves still lasted hours.
DISCLAIMER: Results will differ from hair to hair but this is something that worked for my hair and especially in the sense of saving time..........lots of it!
Tomorrow I want to try the chalk on the hair for a temporary fun color like Pink or Purple
